What is the Duration of Invisalign Treatment?

Ever since Invisalign has entered the dentistry world, dentists have vouched for this oral treatment. They have even preferred Invisalign over traditional braces to fix most of the oral conditions. Adults, teens, and children have opted for Invisalign to cure a lot of oral issues. This is why it is definitely one of the best options for correcting teeth imperfections and straightening smiles. However, most people are unaware of the time period required for wearing Invisalign. The average treatment span of Invisalign ranges widely from 3 to 12 months. But it mostly depends on the category of Invisalign opted and the teeth issue.

The overall duration of Invisalign treatment and categories

It is obvious that the span of Invisalign treatment is relative and it depends on patient to patient. However, the person should keep in mind that the average timeline is usually from 3 months to 1 year. Below are the types of treatment:

For fast and small fixes:

This Invisalign procedure usually lasts for 3 to 4 months. It cures mild to average crowding of teeth and some gaps between teeth. These fixes are seen as tiny and short cosmetic corrections.

For children or minors:

This Invisalign procedure requires 8 months of duration. It is basically used to relocate the teeth of children. It is very common for children to have irregular positions of teeth so this treatment focuses on shifting their teeth in their proper position as their mouths grow.

For minor corrections:

This procedure usually lasts for 4 to 8 months. It is designed to be both successful and quick. It treats class 1 malocclusions.

For serious class 2 malocclusions:

This treatment requires a minimum of 1 year. This procedure demands the most time because it fixes intense issues which need more time to correct alignment.

Lots of Invisalign patients start to notice successful results in only 2 to 3 months.
